Our first project was our airtable database, which was lacking in any user-facing elements. Users found it difficult to use, clunky, and tedious. Emma transformed this experience through an expertise in interface design. She listened carefully to our needs and created beautiful interfaces which helped users make better use of our system, improved the quality of data being collected, and even added some “bells and whistles” we hadn’t thought of.
Another project Emma led was our transition to sociocracy by facilitating meetings and directing us to useful resources. Her pleasant and direct facilitation style had our meetings running smoothly and productively. She took time to meet individually with members who needed extra help, and guided the group through new experiences. Today, many of our circles are operating entirely independently and our general sociocracy practice is deep and meaningful. Emma’s custom-built database for managing sociocratic organizations was a huge help in coordinating teams and aligning practices organization-wide.
Emma marries an easy-going approachability with a highly skilled technical competence that I’ve rarely seen. She has worked with a variety of team members very effectively, and has addressed highly technical problems with precision and promptness. Her deep understanding of the Airtable Platform is evident in all her work as she not only creates solutions, but helps clients to understand how they work. And, her leadership skills are varied enough to help in nearly any circumstance that comes up - from unexpected problems to big setbacks.
