  • I offer a couple of different pricing options, depending on your needs and project details.

Hourly Rate - This is a pre-determined rate that is charged for each hour of work. I usually have an agreement with my clients that outlines the total amount of time they want to spend on a specific project and all work is done within that scope. This allows the client to ensure that the project is within budget and allows me to allocate hours to various areas of the project as needed. Contracts and scopes can be expanded as needed.

Fixed-Fee - For discrete projects or projects just getting started, fixed-fee is often the go-to pricing model. It is tied to specific deliverables and sets a total cost for the project. Often clients choose a fixed-fee model at the onset of a project and then switch to hourly (usually with a not-to-exceed cap) when the project is underway and our relationship is more established. Fixed-fee is also preferable for shorter projects or commissions.

Retainers - are useful when you want to have ready access to advice and services as needed but don’t have a specific project requiring explicitly defined services. This foundation enables me to advise and provide assistance quickly. Through retainer relationships, I am able to spot potential opportunities for automation, efficiency, and/or centralization that save you time, money, and energy, and create more sustainable systems in the long term.

Nonprofit clients are offered a 15% discount on all work (based on an established hourly rate or fixed fee).

  • Data privacy is essential in my line of work. Ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of your data is a top priority for me. I take several measures to maintain security in my work.

Account Management - When establishing new application/software accounts or accessing existing ones on your behalf, I ensure that all actions are undertaken with your knowledge and consent.

User Management & Data Visibility - One of the ways I build in information privacy in a project is by centralizing data while still enabling custom and user-specific visibility and access. This means that while all data is securely housed in one place, access to it is customized to align with different user roles. From a privacy perspective, this structure enables each team member to interact only with the data that is relevant to their role, thereby reducing the risk of accidental data leakage or misuse. From a user experience standpoint, each user sees what they need and only that, thereby decluttering their dashboard and making the system more intuitive and user-friendly.

  • I've had the pleasure of working on a diverse range of projects, each unique in its requirements and goals. My experience spans from assisting a non-profit organization in developing their pilot housing village, where I centralized their data management for smoother operations, to working as a project manager for a cohousing community from inception through design development, ensuring that all aspects of the project are effectively coordinated and executed. Most recently, I've worked with an educational institution to create a tailored digital learning environment and course administration tool.

I also collaborate with individuals and sole proprietors. For an interior designer, I created a custom digital dashboard to facilitate project collaboration and resource centralization. I created branded hero images for a web developer to use on a client’s site. Drawing on my background in sustainable architecture I have advised on building design (particularly universal design), spatial layout and programming, and provided drafting and rendering services.

You can find more detailed descriptions of these and other projects on my Clients page.

  • Absolutely. From the outset, I make the systems I create as simple and user-friendly as possible so that training needs are minimized. When training is required, it is included in prospective scopes.

When I am engaged to create a new system or tool for a client, I keep multiple users and stakeholders in mind. For the team who will operate it on a day-to-day basis, I always recommend that the scope include requisite training to ensure a smooth handoff. For the client/owner, my goal is to make sure they are not just familiar with the system but also understand how it fits into their overall workflow and how it can be leveraged to enhance operations.

Once the system is up and running, I take a hands-on approach to training, walking the team through the system step-by-step and answering any questions that may arise. Typically, my project scopes include user-friendly documentation that can be referred to at any time. This documentation is customized to the system and includes clear instructions, recordings, and screenshots as necessary to help guide the team.
